It is officially Yule/Christmas time ! A’Mira
Where simple traditions, handmade magic, and the warmth of family create the heart of the season.
The holiday season has a way of slowing everything down—inviting us to savor the small, glowing moments that turn ordinary days into memories we carry for years. This week in our holistic home, A’Mira felt more alive than ever. From the scent of fir on our coats after Christmas tree shopping, to the simmering spices filling the kitchen, everything seemed wrapped in that soft, enchanting warmth only December can bring.
The Perfect Christmas Tree Adventure
We bundled up, packed all 5 kiddos, and headed out in search of the tree—the one that feels like it chose us as much as we chose it. There’s something grounding about walking through rows of evergreen, brushing fingertips across branches, and finding the tree that just feels like home.
By the time we got it in the truck bed, the air smelled like frost, evergreen needles, and laughter. The kiddos were thrilled, and so were we! It was the perfect fit !!!
Cranberry Preserves & Winter Spices
Back at home, the kitchen quickly transformed into a cozy workshop. Cranberries popped gently on the stove, releasing their ruby-red color, while cinnamon, orange peel, and clove filled the air with holiday warmth.
As we stirred the spiced cranberry preserve, we talked about how these recipes feel like heirlooms—simple, cherished, and handed down through time. The jars lined up on the counter glowed like little lanterns, each one sealed with intention, tradition, and a whole lot of love.
Handmade Holiday Magic
December crafting is practically a sacred ritual in our home, and this week brought all the handmade magic:
✨ Candle Making
We poured warm wax into jars, blending soft seasonal scents that feel like comfort in candle form. As the wicks set and cooled, we labeled each candle by hand—simple and rustic, just the way we love them.
✨ Dehydrated Citrus Ornaments
Thin slices of oranges, lemons, and blood oranges filled the dehydrator, slowly turning into sunlit little windows for the tree. Once dry, they glowed like stained glass—natural, beautiful, and just a touch old-world.
✨ Stringing Cranberries
We sat together threading cranberries into garlands, a meditative rhythm of needle, berry, and breath. With a Christmas movie on, popcorn, and hot tea, it was the perfect ending to a busy day.
✨ Decorating the Tree
When everything was ready, all kiddos feeling the holiday spirit , we put on Christmas music, and decorated the tree with our citrus slices, handmade ornaments, and simple touches from nature. It wasn’t perfect—and that’s exactly why it felt magical.
The Heart of It All: Family
More important than the crafts, the preserves, the candles, or even the tree itself, was the time spent together. No rush. Just hands busy with simple work, hearts full, and the quiet joy of creating a holiday filled with meaning rather than clutter.
Moments like these remind us why we built A’Mira in the first place—to return to the old ways of living, crafting, and celebrating. To honor nature, to savor the seasons, and to create a home where intention guides everything we do.
From Our Home to Yours
As we step deeper into the holiday season, we hope your home is filled with the same warmth—pine-scented air, glowing candles, homemade goodness, and time shared with the people who matter most.
From our holistic home to yours,
Blessed winter tidings — A’Mira
